Controversial beauty queens

Beauty pageants are not just glamour and showbiz… It is more than what meets the eye! Here are a few beauty queens who made it to the headlines for all the wrong reasons.



Rima Fakih- Miss USA 2010: The beauty who was crowned Miss USA 2010, apparently did a good job on the stripper pole! She participated and won a 'Stripper 101' radio contest a few years ago.  (AP)
Danielle Lloyd- Miss Great Britain 2006: Miss England 2004 and Miss Great Britain 2006 was dethroned after she did a nude photoshoot with Playboy magazine. Carrie Prejean- Miss USA 2009: Carrie Prejean, the gorgeous Miss California, made headlines for her topless appearance on a beach when she was 20.  (AP/Eric Jamison)
Dayana Mendoza- Miss Universe 2008: After wining the Miss Universe 2008 title, Dayana Mendoza was caught in a scandal after nude photos of her modeling days surfaced. The Miss Universe Organization decided not to penalize her, saying that the candid photos were not pornographic, but instead were artistic in nature. (AP/Darren Decker)
Tara Conner- Miss USA 2006: The beauty had her share of controversy, when she was acquitted for inappropriate behaviour at New York bars after she won the crown. Later she was dethroned and it was also announced that she was to join rehab. (Getty Images)
Jennifer Hawkins- Miss Universe 2004: Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins was left red faced after she suffered a wardrobe malfunction during a swimwear fashion parade. The beauty also posed nude for a magazine, non-airbrushed! (Getty Images/Darren Decker)
Vanessa Williams- Miss America 1984: She was the first black Miss America but soon after wining the crown Vanessa's nude photos were circulated. The naked lesbian themed photos published were so explicit that she was dethroned! (AFP/Gabriel Bouys)
